Due to the low requests for services in the field of marine equipment, we have decided to quit all activities in the service area of Directive 2014/90/EU (MED). IBExU Institut für Sicherheitstechnik GmbH has already submitted a corresponding revocation of the designation as european notified body according to Directive 2014/90/EU (MED) to the respective authority. The application is currentliy being processed. All other service areas of IBExU Institut für Sicherheitstechnik GmbH remain unaffected.

We are pleased to inform you that with the certificate issued on 6 April 2021 by the Bundesamt für Seeschifffahrt und Hydrographie (BSH) (Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency), IBExU Institut für Sicherheitstechnik GmbH may operate as a notified body under Directive 2014/90/EU. With the expansion of our scope of services, we are able to provide you with the implementation of conformity assessment procedures for marine equipment. Our scope of notification covers the performance of conformity assessment procedures according to Directive 2014/90/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 July 2014 on marine equipment (MED) in accordance with Chapter 3, Fire protection equipment, Item MED/3.12 with Modules B, D, E and F of the current implementing regulation (EU) 2020/1170 or the relevant items of the implementing regulations of the European Commission which will replace it in the future.
